last week has been crazy: after the petrol prices skyrocketed, some petrol stations even ran out of diesel. people protested for lowering the petrol tax – by driving around. for me all these issues reveal a much deeper root cause and completely missing the point:
first of all, the energy crisis is caused by a mad president who wanted to distract from his pedophilia (epstein files). in my opinion instead of demanding lower petrol prices we should demand donald trump (and others) to be held accountable for abusing children.
secondly the war started by the united states was justified by claiming iran would work on building an atomic bomb – while themselves seem to be allowed to do the same. as there’s no evidence found, again, attacking iran presents as unjust war crimes. i am not protesting for lower fuel prices but for peace.
last but not least this huge oil crisis caused by a collapse of the supply chain shows how we are still locked up in fossil fuel dependence – in times of a climate crisis. the path is clear, we need to phase out fossil fuels, but our daily lifes still depends on petrol on diesel. wind and solar energy instead isn’t only cutting greenhouse gas emissions but making our country self-sufficient.
but without sustainable alternatives, the people aren’t able to move away from fossil fueled transportation. where’s the government supporting our needs by providing cheap and reliable public transport, affordable electric cars as well as travelling by ferry? because a sustainable livestyle shouldn’t depend on people’s income.
instead of calling for lower petrol prices, i am calling for a just transition to renewable energies and accessable sustainable transport!
